Recently, the 2022 Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology released the list of smart factories and digital workshops of Beijing. 

Beijing E-Town has 15 digital workshops and 16 smart factories on the list, both of which rank first, accounting for 31.9 percent and 44.4 percent of the total respectively.

Among them, the digital workshop is based on the technology and equipment required by the production object, and uses information technology, automated technology, and measurement and control technology as means to connect different production units in the workshop with data to plan, manage, diagnose and optimize the production operation process. 

In the high-end intelligent control system digital workshop of the Hollysys Technology Group Co, manipulators are working in an orderly manner. The automated flexible assembly test production line, automated three-dimensional warehouse, automated logistics, intelligent control system, and intelligent production scheduling are set up to realize the automatic continuous flow of manufacturing and timely production of various products.

Based on the digital workshop, smart factories promote manufacturing technology breakthroughs and process innovations, through the integration of the new generation of information technology, the whole manufacturing process and all elements. It also promotes lean management and business process reengineering, and builds a flexible, efficient, green and safe manufacturing system. 

The 16 smart factories on the list in Beijing E-Town cover four leading industries and emerging industries; the Beijing BOE Display Technology Co has built an 8.5-generation smart factory for LCD device manufacturing. Today, one of every four display screens in the world comes from BOE.

The Beijing Benz Automobile Co has built a smart factory for high-end passenger car manufacturing. In its factory, an average of one car rolls off the assembly line every 45 seconds; Two out of every three pieces of CT equipment sold by GE are produced in the production base in Beijing E-Town.
