GE Healthcare China and the Beijing Municipal Government signed a strategic cooperation memorandum in Beijing E-Town on April 20 where they pledged to define four areas of cooperation: expanding investment in Beijing, nurturing industrial ecology, deepening medical cooperation, and optimizing talent environment.

GE Healthcare also held a ceremony to launch the first high-end all-digital PET/CT (positron emission tomography and X-ray computed tomography imaging system) product from its molecular imaging production line at the GE Healthcare Beijing Imaging Equipment Manufacturing Base.

The product, called Discovery Future, will soon be delivered to customers.

Since the establishment of GE Healthcare's first joint venture in Beijing E-Town -- GE Hangwei in 1991 -- GE Healthcare China has successively established GE Healthcare Beijing Science Park, GE Healthcare Beijing Imaging Equipment Manufacturing Base, etc. 

The GE Healthcare Beijing Imaging Equipment Manufacturing Base is now one of the world's largest imaging equipment manufacturing bases for GE Healthcare. Beijing E-Town also gathers over 3,500 companies in the biopharmaceutical field, including GE Healthcare, Bayer, YouCare Pharmaceutical, Pharmaron, etc.

Currently, the nearly 2,000-square-meter high-end nuclear medicine molecular imaging equipment production line has been put into production in Beijing. Discovery Future represents GE Healthcare's latest achievement in high-end medical device manufacturing.
